Cohen grew up in Manalapan, New Jersey. Her mother, Judy Gale (born Judith Fleming) was a tenured college professor at Pace University in New York City and her father, Lawrence Thomas Gale, was a printing executive who was one of the founding members of New York Magazine.
After attending K-12 at a public school in Manalapan, Cohen went to live in Nice, France, to study French, culture, art, history and political science at the University of Nice. She returned to the U.S., and enrolled in the Political Science program at Montclair State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992 and post-graduate paralegal certificate in 1993.
After working in Princeton, New Jersey as a paralegal for managing partners at various Princeton law firms, Cohen took a job at Logic Works, a technology company founded by her husband, Ben Cohen. Cohen helped her husband grow the start-up company, achieve revenue goals, and subsequently execute a landmark IPO in 1995.
After the sale of Logic Works to Platinum Technology (subsequently bought by Computer Associates), Cohen took a hiatus from work to raise her children. She went back to work full-time in 2006 as the Executive Director of Bode Miller’s Turtle Ridge Foundation which supports adaptive sports programs for disabled children, veterans and adults. From 2010, Cohen has been focused on helping major politicians raise money for their campaigns and assisting in campaign strategy and PR.
