Ryan Young (born 25 December 1979) is an English footballer who plays for AFC Telford United.

Club career

Ryan Young started his career at Chasetown in the academy, after leaving the youth team he played for Nuneaton Boro at a young age. After leaving them he played for several non league teams including Redditch United, Hednesford and Hucknall Town.

He now plays for AFC Telford United where he has played over 200 league games for the Bucks.[1] He has achieved a lot while playing for them. He saved three penalties for the Bucks in the Setanta Shield final against Forest Green Rovers, at the end of the game he claimed the man of the match award.[2] During his time with AFC Telford he has received player of the year awards. In the 2010–11 season he also helped them win promotion to Conference National.

He made his 300th appearance for Telford on 12 January 2013 away to Braintree Town.

On the 11th March 2013 is was announced that Young would help the manager and become a coach until the end of the season.

Personal life

His dad Dale Young was also a footballer.[3]
